I would use it for fun. This kind of app I regard to as "cutesy". Nothing for serious content.

I think it's "not okay" when the feeling is incorrect or inappropriate in accordance to the original content of the photo.
3. How do you know when a photo is journalism or art?
It is journalism when it reflects a realistic issue or event that is current or pressing. It is art when it takes a step into fantasy, with surreal or irrelevant matters. Maybe.
4. What if you are using an old Polaroid camera that produces photos that look like this naturally?
If the Polaroid camera is what is available, then nothing could really be wrong with it.
